Born and raised in Naracoorte, James left the familiar surroundings of country life and moved to Adelaide where he spent the next 14 years completing secondary school, obtaining a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of South Australia and thereafter completing a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Adelaide. After being admitted to practice on the 14th of December 2009, James commenced working in an Adelaide based Law Firm gaining experience in legal practice before returning to Naracoorte in 2010 where he joined Peter Westley.

James joined Peter as partner in 2015 and the firm Westley DiGiorgio Norcock was then established.

James specialises and practices in all areas of law including property and business transfers, estate planning, commercial law, family law, criminal law and estate administration. James undertakes the majority of the firm’s litigation and Court appearances and regularly appears in matters in the Magistrates Court, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and Supreme Court of South Australia.

A major focus of James’ expertise is in the area of Family Law. James provides advice and representation in respect of all matters arising following the breakdown of a relationship including, property settlement, parenting agreements and child support.

James’s commercial and business service offerings include acting on the sale and purchase of properties, share transfers, business sales, drawing up contracts, leases, shareholder agreements and trust deeds.

James is supported in his work by legal assistant Stef Bull.

When James isn’t practising law, he is probably practising his golf swing or spending time with his family. James has played representative golf all over Australia and is currently the President of the Golf SE Golf Association and organiser of the annual charitable Two Cocks Golf Day held in Naracoorte each year which raises significant funds for local charities.
